Mole Check Service
Moles are a common part of the skin, with most being harmless and posing no threat to your health. However, changes in the size, shape, or colour of a mole can sometimes indicate more serious conditions, including skin cancer. Early detection is key to ensuring successful treatment and maintaining healthy skin.
At Largue Pharmacy, we offer professional mole scanning services designed to help you monitor your skin and address any concerns promptly.

Expert Mole Checks, Delivered Locally
Worried about a mole? Now you can get it checked quickly and safely at your local pharmacy.
Our service provides fast access to UK consultant dermatologists, without the wait.
Drop in or Book Online
Pop into the pharmacy or book ahead—whichever suits you best. Our team will walk you through what to expect and check you in.
Your 10-Minute Skin Check
A trained pharmacy team member will use a medical-grade dermatoscope attached to a smartphone to capture high-quality images of your mole. A brief questionnaire will be completed with you before we send everything securely for review.
Remote Consultant Review
Your images are uploaded instantly and reviewed by a UK-based consultant dermatologist. You’ll receive a written report in 24–48 hours, often much faster than the standard NHS route.
Get Your Results
Your report will tell you clearly if your mole looks normal, needs monitoring, or should be looked at more closely. A copy is also shared with the pharmacy to help support any follow-up steps.
What Happens Next?
If further action is needed, you’ll be contacted directly by the Map My Mole team with clear advice. That may include a recommendation to see your GP or simply some timely reassurance that no further steps are needed.
FAQs: What You Need to Know
What is Map My Mole?
A consultant-led mole review service available in select pharmacies. Using a medical lens and app, we capture images of your mole and send them securely to a UK dermatologist for review. You get your report in 24–48 hours.
Is it safe?
Yes. All images are reviewed by experienced UK consultant dermatologists and the service follows strict clinical safety guidelines. No diagnosis is made in the pharmacy itself.
Who reviews the mole?
Your case is reviewed by a real consultant dermatologist registered with the GMC—not by AI or automated tools.
Will I get a diagnosis?
Yes. You’ll receive a written report saying if your mole is benign, needs monitoring, or requires further medical attention.
What if something serious is found?
You’ll be contacted by Map My Mole and guided on what to do next—this might mean seeing your GP or accessing one of our trusted clinical partners for further care.
Is this service for children?
Yes, for children over 16. Younger patients must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When should I get a mole checked?
A mole is changing shape, colour, or size
It itches, bleeds or crusts
You feel unsure or anxious about it
Who Shouldn’t Use This Service?
There are a few situations where it’s safer to see your GP directly:
- Moles that are bleeding heavily, infected, or very painful
- Rapidly spreading rashes with fever or other symptoms
- If you've already been referred to hospital for this mole
- Moles inside the mouth, genital area, or in difficult-to-photograph locations
- Under 16s without a parent/guardian
- If you have more than 3 new or suspicious moles needing review
Our team will advise you if the service isn’t suitable in your case.
